The Powell Street Festival is happening this weekend – Aug 2nd and 3rd at locations around Oppenheimer Park (they won’t be using the park area this year due to the protest happening there).  The craft booths will be down Jackson Ave between Railway and Alexander.  If you are at the festival then come and say hi!  Click here for more information and to see the locations.  the festival runs from 11:30am – 7pm on both days.Hope to see you there!

My beautiful best friend recently got married.  My 4 year old daughter, Kiyo, had the honour of being a flower girl at her wedding.  The brides colours were somewhere from hot pink to magenta – most of the time landing on fuchsia.  There were three flower girls and they were all wearing an adorable white satin dress with an organza sash.  To incorporate a little of the bride’s south asian background, I made these saree fabric flowers to adorn the dresses.  Found all the fabric at Roccos Sarees and Fabrics on Fraser St. I got a great deal!

It was another great festival!  It was lovely to eat the wonderful food, watch the sumo tournament and performances on the main stage, and see new and old friends!  Thanks to everyone who came out to visit us in the craft booths and buy our hand made goodies.  And thanks to the gang at PSF who did another amazing job getting everything organized this year.  See you next summer!  Below is the view from my booth….
